9/52 – The Fox and the Farmer

The fox in the henhouse is a hungry bugger,
But trying to survive means to slake that hunger.
The farmer’s daughter is a working woman,
But those chicken eggs are still what feed her children.
Brother, don’t you know it’s time to go
Back the way you came.

This song addresses urban expansion and the plight of the farmer. The city and the need to survive seem to be the central idea of the blog so far.

I’m living now in Montreal and can no longer make excuses for the irregularity of my updates. The semester has ended and my recordings with my brother Jeff are in the mixing stage.

Meanwhile I’ve added links along the side: my old friend and twice roommate Eric Billingsley recorded an album in February, called Static Shores, which can be streamed online. Instrumental progressive rock / ambient electronica. It’s fantastic.

  1. Nice track! I expect another a week from now…

By the way I have a bandcamp page now which is nicer than the rpmchallenge profile page, if you want to link to that instead: http://ericbillingsley.bandcamp.com/

  2. No problem Eric. The link is updated.

I’m setting up my recording room here in Montreal, and have already started testing some demoes.
